Partners

SaratogaArtsFest works in partnership with community and arts organizations to grow audiences for all the arts in Saratoga. Collaborating in the areas of programming, exhibits, financial and logistical support, and marketing and outreach efforts, SaratogaArtsFest and Partner organizations enrich the arts landscape and encourage increased cultural tourism in our region.

2010 Grant Winners

Each year, proceeds from SaratogaArtsFest's opening celebration, Prelude, are awarded to partners to help bring programming to SaratogaArtsFest. This year, the grant winners are:

  • The Albany Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet will perform a varied program ranging from Renaissance and Baroque selections to Big Band jazz and Broadway show tunes.
  • Caffè Lena will offer two shows with nationally touring acoustic bands or solo artists. One night will feature a songwriter teamed with an eclectic R&B/rockabilly quartet, while the other evening will showcase a hammered dulcimer virtuoso accompanied by fiddle and bass.
  • Empire State College Foundation of SUNY will present Flashback, a powerful one-act drama that explores the psychic repercussions of war from the perspective of six women who were married to Vietnam veterans and lost their husbands to suicide.
  • Home Made Theater will perform Runyonesque, based on the writings of Damon Runyon, whose work inspired the musical Guys and Dolls. Relive the spirit of Saratoga’s gambling and horse-racing heyday at this colorful theatrical performance.
  • Lake George Opera at Saratoga will present arias from a sampling of operas performed by artists from its 2010 summer season. Hear some of the best rising young talent in the area.
  • The Saratoga Chamber Players, under the direction of Jill Levy, concertmaster of the Albany Symphony Orchestra, will perform works by Stravinsky, Borodin, and Glazunov.
